About Us

Ros started cooking when she moved to Chicago from Singapore in February 2010. Although it started out of necessity, cooking very quickly became a passion for Ros, who tries to recreate tasty Malay dishes from her kitchen. Ros thanks her mom for the years of training in the kitchen, which she used to not look forward to, but is now extremely grateful for.

Connie acquired a keen sense of taste from her parents who are avid foodies. She grew up eating delicious Cantonese cuisine cooked by her mom. Her upbringing in Guatemala and her travels around the world exposed her to various cuisines which she enjoys.

Connie's interest in delicate Cantonese cuisine and elegant European dining complements Ros' interest in fiery and rustic South East Asian cuisine. They live in Chicago and spend their free time either glued to the Cooking Channel and the Food Network or along the aisles of Wholefoods and Super H Mart searching for ingredients for their latest food adventure. Neither Ros nor Connie received any formal culinary training and depend entirely on their palate, memory and sense of adventure to recreate these dishes.

Other than cooking, Ros and Connie are avid art lovers and can often be found at The Art Institute of Chicago as well all other museums where their travels happen to take them.
